On 21st April 2015, Google launched their latest Google mobile-friendly update, “Mobilegeddon” reducing rankings for website’s that are not Google mobile-friendly for users and providing a boost in traffic for websites that are mobile-friendly. Google has been talking about the upcoming of this update for a while and have also launched the Google mobile friendly test tool, which can be accessed here https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/mobile-friendly.

It is crucial for website owners to have their website mobile-friendly as Google has confirmed that this new update will impact search engine rankings and that business website owners will see a drop in online rankings and traffic if their website is not adapted for mobiles.

This new algorithm update from Google is flexible. This means that website possessors that have not made these new changes still have time, and they can recover from lost online traffic.

I believe that Google is adjusting their online search for website’s that are not only relevant to the user and their search term, but also providing and caring about the user experience (UX) of the website viewed.
